How do I earn bp Rewards points?

You can earn bp Rewards by simply presenting your bp Rewards card at any participating bp service station when you purchase fuel.

What are the rewards customers earn when filling up?

You can earn up to 30c per litre of fuel. Simply swipe your bp Rewards card to earn 20c per a litre of fuel and your Smart shopper card to earn 10c per litre of fuel. You can also earn up to 1% cash back in the bp Express store (inclusive of Castrol Lubricants).

How long does it take for my earned points to reflect on my account?

Your points will reflect immediately in your account.

How can I view my rewards balance?

You can log into www.bprewards.co.za to view your points.

Can I use part of my points and cash to pay for one transaction?

Yes, fully registered card owners can redeem their points for fuel and pay the remaining amount with cash/card.

How much cashback do I need to have to redeem?

You must have a minimum of R20 in your bp Rewards account to redeem.

How do I redeem my points?

You can redeem your points at any participating bp service station and bp Express convenience stores for fuel and eligible goods. You can begin redeeming points starting from 1 October 2024.

What is required of me to redeem my points?

To redeem your points, you will need to enter a 4-digit PIN. Your PIN is created when you complete your profile on the web portal. If you're uncertain, please contact the contact centre for assistance on 0860 222 166 or E-mail CustomercareLoyalty@bp.com

Do my bp rewards expire?

Bp Rewards members who have inactive accounts that have not transacted for a period of 6 months will have a period of 1 year from the date of the last transaction to redeem points.

If I have a lost, stolen card or suspecting fraudulent transaction on my card, how do I get a replacement?

Simply contact the bp Rewards customer care on 0860 222 166 or E-mail CustomercareLoyalty@bp.com and we will guide you on the steps to follow to obtain a replacement.

Where do I register my card?

You can register your card by simply going to our website (bprewards.co.za) or scan the QR Code on the back of the bp Rewards card and follow the steps.

Can I earn Smart shopper points, Discovery, and Nedbank greenbacks in addition to bp rewards on the same transaction?
  • Rewards Members can earn BP Rewards and Smart shopper points by simply swiping the bp Rewards Card followed by the Reward Member’s Smart shopper card.

  • Rewards Members cannot earn bp Rewards and Vitality Drive benefits on the same transaction.

What do I do if my bp Rewards card is declining when swiped?

The bp petrol attendant will present you with a slip reflecting the decline error for your record. You may then contact our bp Rewards customer care to assist you further:  0860 222 166 or E-mail CustomercareLoyalty@bp.com

Do I earn rewards when I redeem my points to pay a transaction?

No, you do not earn rewards when points are redeemed.

Can I transfer my bp rewards cash back to another account?

Unfortunately, you can only redeem your cash back from your account at participating bp service stations.

Can I register as a group or as a business?

How many cards can I register as an individual?

You are only able to register one card against your member account.

Am I able to earn bp Rewards when paying with my fleet card?

Unfortunately, Rewards Member cannot earn Rewards if the Rewards Member is a bp Fuel Master, Fuel master Plus, Masana Fuel Card, Fuel Master Card and Masana Contracted Fleet Move customer and paying using one of these payment types when fuelling at participating Service Stations.

Can I deregister out of the bp Rewards communication or deactivate my account?

Yes, you can. If you no longer wish to receive communications from bp Rewards and want to deactivate your loyalty account, please contact our customer careline by calling 0860 222 166 or sending an email to CustomercareLoyalty@bp.com

Why is my account suspended?

If fraudulent activity is detected on your account, your account may be temporarily suspended to ensure the safety of your profile and personal details. Can the customer earn points without presenting the card manually/physically similar to Discovery?

At the moment bp is rolling out physical cards as a quick and easy solution to go to market. The card must be physically swiped through the machine. The business is looking at going digital/cardless in the future once we gain good traction on the offer.

BP Rewards program is designed for individual customers to sign up, not for companies. There is a concern that this setup may disadvantage customers who, for instance own multiple vehicles and wants a reward card

BP Rewards is not linked to any specific vehicle. Customers who own multiple vehicles can use their bp Rewards on their multiple cards with limitations. The limitations are designed to avoid cases of fraud.

Is there a limit on how many Smart Shopper points I can earn?

Yes, there is a cap on the number of points a customer can earn on Smart Shopper. Specifically, there is a limit of 200 litres per transaction and 500 litres per card per day. This limit ensures fairness and helps prevent fraud in both the Smart Shopper and bp Rewards programs.

Can I earn points using a BP Rewards card and Vodacom voucher simultaneously?

No, The bp Rewards card can only be swiped with the Smart Shopper card.

What should customers do if the operating pay point terminal is down or unavailable and they cannot earn points?

Customers are supposed to earn points at the time of the transaction when they fill up at the forecourt. If the operation pay point is down, customers should contact the customer center to raise a complaint.

Can customers view their points before processing the transaction?

Points are issued only after payment is completed. Confirmation of the points earned, and the balance can be seen on the receipt or viewed on www.bprewards.co.za.

How long does a customer have to swipe their BP Rewards card if they don't have it at the time of purchase?

Customers need to have their bp Rewards card during the transaction. To prevent fraud, a physical card must be swiped during the transaction to earn rewards. Rewards will only be manually added if the card was swiped and there was a technical issue that prevented the points from being earned. This will require the customer to provide supporting documentation, including till slips and transaction details.

Can I earn BP Rewards when I purchase Wild Bean Café products inside a Pick n Pay express or shop?

Unfortunately, BP Rewards is not available at Pick n Pay Express stores, including any purchases made within these stores.

Can e-hailing taxi service drivers (Uber, Bolt, InDrive, Taxify) form groups or have a setup like SA Taxis to enjoy the benefits of the BP Rewards program?

E-hailing drivers can participate in the BP Rewards program, but each driver must independently register for their own card.

Can I claim points for a past transaction if I forgot my BP Rewards card at home?

No, you cannot claim points for a past transaction. The BP Rewards card must be physically present at the time of the transaction to earn points.

Can I email customer care to have my BP Rewards points added manually?

Yes, if the transaction did not go through on-site because the POS was down, you can contact Customer Care and provide all necessary documentation. They will add your points retrospectively.

Do customers receive notifications when points are close to expiry?

Yes, a notification will be sent to customers.

Is there a USSD registration option for customers who don't have smartphones or internet access?

Unfortunately, no. However, many sites are providing a phone or tablets with data to help customers, especially the elderly, register their cards on the spot.

Can I earn and redeem BP Rewards for cigarettes, airtime, and electricity?

No, you cannot earn or redeem BP Rewards for these items.

Do customers need to do two separate transactions if they use a BP Rewards card at an unbranded store?

Yes, customers must do two separate transactions. One transaction will be at the forecourt, where rewards can be earned, and another transaction inside the unbranded shop, where no rewards will be earned.
